A Classic Summer Breakfast Table Setting
There's no better feeling than coming down for breakfast to a beautifully set table. It puts a smile on my face, makes everything taste better and energizes me to tackle whatever lies ahead for the day.
And what better combination than blue and gold for a lovely, summer table setting. It's the perfect balance of elegant and energetic. Truly timeless and classic. You just can't go wrong with it.
My white table is the ultimate blank canvas for this gorgeously easy set up.To take away from the pressures of perfection, I've dressed my table for a relaxed, casual look where not every place setting needs to match.
A crisp, yellow linen runner overlapped with a rustic burlap runner sets a casual vibe.
I built on this base with classic white plates, and then topped them off with a variety of global blue and white china and accessories. The blue and yellow fish plate is from a trip to Portugal, assorted blue and white plates from Italy, the Delft Dutch house from Holland, the tea cup covers from China and some assorted English vintage tea set pieces.
Pairing differing textural elements like reflective polished silverware and crystal glassware with organic cotton and wicker, sets the tone for a stylish yet casual affair.
My little, green teapot napkin rings bring a bit of whimsy to the table.
And my 'day of the week' linens are truly delightful. Why shouldn't Monday mornings be special?
A few sunflower stems set in a large milk jug are the final touch to pull this 'Cheerful Country Chic' look together.
VoilĂ . I'm looking forward to enjoying my croissants and coffee in style tomorrow morning.
